This project, located on one of Hagley’s most sought-after roads (DY9), involved the complete renovation of a spacious 1970s property. The homeowners were turning an already impressive house into a modern, open family home, and glazing played a key part in achieving that vision.
From the first design meetings, Hayley Windows worked alongside the architect and main contractor to ensure that every window and door complemented the property’s new look while delivering performance and longevity.
The Client’s Brief
The goal was clear: create a bright, welcoming space with a strong connection between the interior and the outdoors.
The homeowners wanted:
By collaborating from the earliest design stages, we helped integrate glazing as a defining part of the architecture, not just a finishing detail.
Our Approach
We supplied and installed a full range of aluminium, composite, and UPVC glazing products throughout the property. Every choice was made to balance appearance, functionality, and efficiency.
At the rear, we fitted Smart's Architectural Aluminium bifold doors, creating a seamless transition between the main living space and the garden.
These slimline doors maximise natural light and offer excellent insulation, keeping the home comfortable all year round. Their durable frames and clean lines perfectly suited the property’s modern style.
A custom-designed gable window above the front entrance became a key architectural feature. It allows light to flood the entrance hall, making the space feel open and airy.
The gable glazing also adds balance to the front elevation, tying together the contemporary façade and the new double-door entrance.
To complete the entrance, we installed Solidor composite double doors. They deliver the right combination of security, insulation, and aesthetics, giving the property a bold, elegant front feature.
The doors’ solid core design ensures long-term durability and high thermal performance, while the finish complements the anthracite grey frames throughout the home.
For the main glazing, the homeowners chose The Residence Collection 7 (R7) flush windows. These are among the most advanced UPVC systems available, offering outstanding energy performance and a clean, flush fit that looks as good as it performs.
The subtle detailing and smooth finish of the R7 range worked beautifully alongside the aluminium doors, maintaining a consistent look across the property.
All the glazing was finished in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey, a colour that continues to be a favourite among homeowners for its balance of warmth and modern appeal.
The darker tone provides contrast against the property’s lighter render and complements both the internal finishes and the external architecture.
Project Coordination
This renovation required close coordination between multiple trades. Our team worked closely with the main contractor and other specialists to ensure a smooth installation process and a consistent level of quality throughout.
Being involved from the early planning stages allowed us to align installation timelines with the wider build programme, keeping everything on track.
The Result
The completed home is bright, efficient, and contemporary. The combination of aluminium bifolds, feature glazing, and flush windows gives the property a refined and balanced appearance, while the performance benefits speak for themselves: improved thermal comfort, noise reduction, and long-lasting quality.
The glazing has transformed the overall feel of the home, adding light and space without compromising on style or practicality.
