Hayley Windows is proud to announce that we have been shortlisted for not one, but three categories in the GGP Installer Awards 2025. These nominations are a testament to the dedication, expertise, and hard work in the home improvement industry, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be recognised in such a competitive field.
We are incredibly thrilled to have been shortlisted for the Best Heritage Installation award this year. The objective of this project was to replace the original inefficient steel leaded windows, offering a fresh, modern look while retaining the character and charm of the property. Our team spent a great deal of time with the homeowners in our local windows showroom discussing various profiles, and it was clear that all parties felt it was imperative to replicate the steel windows as closely as possible. This ensured the property benefitted from improved security and energy efficiency, with heritage aluminium being the final choice.
Located in the rural village of Enville, Staffordshire, the property does not fall under strict conservation guidelines, but the homeowners were highly aware of the need to be considerate due to past issues with property improvements being met with resistance. Complaints had been made to the local council and the neighbouring Enville Estate, which owns the majority of the village and has significant influence over its development. This made the project even more important, as we wanted to ensure the new windows were not only in keeping with the property's historic charm but were also well-received by the local community.
This project involved the comprehensive renovation of a large home situated in a beautiful rural village, transforming it into a modern, energy-efficient property while preserving its timeless character and charm.
Our home improvement company played a key role from the very beginning, collaborating closely with the customer, architect, interior designer, and builder to ensure the glazing complemented every aspect of the property’s design.
The renovation includes significant upgrades to insulation, the installation of underfloor heating, and the integration of energy-efficient glazing throughout the home, ensuring it meets contemporary standards of comfort and sustainability. This impressive transformation achieves a perfect balance between traditional features and modern living, with every detail thoughtfully selected to enhance the property’s style, functionality, and long-term durability.
The customers contacted our home extension specialists in the West Midlands for assistance with upgrading the glazing in an existing extension. At the time, they already had a building team on-site, working on renovations to the roof and replacing old, rotten timber with new brickwork.
Although the task at hand was to transform the place with replacement windows, the presence of the building team provided the flexibility to make some changes to the apertures, allowing us to give the space a fresh personality. Rather than simply opting for like-for-like window replacements, the project gave the opportunity to enhance the space with a more tailored approach.
Situated in beautiful countryside, the property features an older cottage as its original part, and the new glazing window design needed to complement both the traditional character of the cottage and the modern improvements to the property extension.
